I just returned from Santa Fe; toured the Georgia O'Keefe museum and visited Ghost Ranch and Abiquiu where she painted. Her interpretations of the landscape were brilliant! I love the desert.
Wonderful and inspiring painting. I agree with Sandra and would like to know too what glorious color is that? So happy to know you loved the area at Ghost Ranch. Me too! An artist friend goes with me. We rent a cottage and paint, paint paint.
Thanks for the lovely comments. I usually stick to a pretty limited palette-- my warm colors are typically limited to cad yellow lemon, cad yellow light, cad red medium and permanent alizarin crimson-- but you all are the expert color mixers! Julie, I have been to Santa Fe before but never to Ghost Ranch. I was positively blown away!
Just 'wow'. Love the way you nailed the spikiness of the flowers - so so easy to 'overdo'… and that little jar… *sigh*. I collect them and love to paint them. I know just how difficult they are!
This is absolutely gorgeous Susan! that colour is stunning! What is it? Did you mix it yourself? :0)
