There is only one painting above, the final version is to the left. Usually, I work on a painting for 1 or 2 days, 3 at the most. (The advantage to working small.) But this was a painting that I was never really satisfied with and whenever I was in the mood I would change it a bit--take out a flower, put it back in, move the stems around, change the highlight, etc. Anyway, it was time to stop.
I actually like both versions, but I know what you mean that you have to rework it until you are satisfied (or know that if you go any further you'll ruin it)I just looked again and i agree that the one on the left is stronger.
ReplyDeleteI love it Susan. I like the changes you made. It looks done to me. I love your style.
ReplyDeleteI love them both too. I have some tall vases and this makes me want to go out and buy flowers and try to paint them! Beautiful composition and colors!
ReplyDeleteDon't touch it. Gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteI am a gemini therefore I love them both, though I do understand all that. If I were required to vote under some sort of penalty then .... I vote for the left one to ... 'take the cake'. Beautiful work Susan .... suzy
ReplyDeleteThis painting is wonderful!
ReplyDeleteBoth are really beautiful to my eye! Always love the lyrical quality of your paint. Those shades of blue on the tabletop are so subtle and soft yet are discrete colors as they move seamlessly one into another.
ReplyDeleteVery nice!
ReplyDeleteTurned out beautifully!!!
